About the Cyanotype Process
The cyanotype process was discovered in the 1800's by John Herchel. It uses UV light to inprint images onto paper or material and then is fixed using water! Today the technique is less used in printing but more so in art due to its sustainability features.
My T-shirts and towels and soon to be tote bags are used using these same chemicals used 200 years ago but instead of using objects to make a contact print, I use digital negatives of my own images.
The chemicals are non-toxic and safe. Images will fade after the first couple washes but after that, they are yours forever. Be sure to wash with a non-phosphate detergent on a cold wash.
